Tonia KELZ was born on May 17, 1925, in Antwerp, where the above picture was taken in 1939. She was deported with her parents, Chaskiel and Anna, after having been arrested by gendarmes on July 17, 1942, in the Basses-Pyrénées near Spain. Interned at Gurs, then at Rivesaltes, they were handed over to the SS in Drancy by Vichy, and all three were deported on convoy 33 of September 16, 1942. Only little Jacques, in the care of the OSE, escaped deportation.
